18-abril-12: The smell of fresh paint greets us as we walk inside. It's hard to believe that less than six months ago, this was a field filled with weeds. Don't believe us? Page down to the bottom to see the progress! God is so faithful!!
Below: Hans (one of our great Construction leaders) is painting the wooden walls for the Office and Closet.
Below: The wooden frame will become a spacious counter. To the left, a refrigerator, to the right a stove. A double sink and cupboards will complete our Kitchen Area. How fun it will be to teach baking - and make yummy cafecitos!
(Notice the little ones playing - we can't wait until we can invite them in to learn about Jesus - and have lots of fun doing it!!)

13-abril-12: Despite a lot of rain, our Construction team continues to work hard on the site. We've got doors - a front one, and double doors out back! - and bars for the windows. Although this may seem unwelcoming, it's a part of life here. Instead of months, we're now anticipating only weeks before we can move in! God is so good!!

4-abril-12: Wow, what a month! We had four one-week teams come and help out in March, and the Site is getting closer and closer to completion!! Check it out!

2-marzo-12: The past weeks have seen more great work at the Site. Outlets and spaces for plumbing are being prepped, as well as the septic system being dug.

28-enero-12: The Joshua team has joined forces with our Construction group, and what a force they are! Check out the work they accomplished this week:

| 28/1: Both the inside and outside parts of the building will have a roof for activities in all kinds of weather. |
21-enero-12: Despite lots of rain, the awesome construction team keeps on working away! Next week we'll have an Outreach team here, which will add extra manpower. Soon it will be time to start thinking about paint colors for the floor and walls! It's been fun to share our excitement with our groups as we meet together in our current site.

In January construction will resume (si Dios quiere). A team is coming at the end of that month to help put on the roof.

2-diciembre-11: Things are moving along! Hans and Rudy (our Construction Site supervisors) and their team have been working hard - and it shows!

It's already possible to see where the back patio will be, the bathroom (indoors - yay!), office area and more!
Please join us in praising God for the work He is doing in El Callejon. And... because we know Satan does not want the name of Jesus proclaimed there, please pray for God's protection over the workers, the construction, and especially the people of El Callejon. Thank you, praying friends!!

| 22/11: Mixing up concrete. |
Today they were working on concrete. This involves a small mixer, into which is poured (manually!) big bags of powdered cement, and water. As the mixer mixes, the guys shovel in gravel. It is hard, hot, dusty work. And, since the batches are small, it will be repeated many, many times.
After the concrete is poured, it will be wall time. Large stacks of cinder block line the Site, waiting for their turn.

The new construction has become quite an attraction. It's so fun to talk with the people and explain what's going on.
Some of the workers are from El Callejon, and we pray that as they work with Hans and Rudy, our SI construction leaders, they will see that this is more than just a job for them. We pray that the Holy Spirit will use this new building - long before it is built! - to draw others to Jesus.
