Site History

VISION:  To foster and restore value and dignity to the women, teenagers and young girls of the community of Piedra Blanca by empowering, through Biblical knowledge of Jesus Christ, their calling for personal salvation and teaching them about social responsibility and justice.
MISSION:  To create a space where women, teenagers, and young girls can grow in their knowledge of Christ through studying the Bible and learning different activities that help to strengthen their self-esteem and value as persons useful for society.
OUR STORY:  The Christian Development Site for Women (commonly called the Social Work Site) is the realization of a dream that began in the heart of Janeth Simmons.  After Students International began a pre-school in El Callejon to meet the needs of the children, Janeth recognized that needs also existed among the women of the community.
Janeth decided to open a site where the women of El Callejon could participate in activities as they learn new skills, and also to have a space where they could receive instruction in such parts of their lives as their relationships with their husbands and their methods of raising their children.  The primary focus of the site was, and continues to be, solid Biblical teaching which enables the women to grow in Christ.
It is the prayer of Students International and the staff at the site that as the women apply what they learn to their relationships and lifestyles, true transformation in El Callejon will be seen.
